Youssef CHAHIR
Youssef Chahir earned his PhD in Computer Science from ECL (École Centrale de Lyon) in 2000, focusing on visual content indexing.
He is an assistant professor/HDR at the French University of Caen Normandie (Computer Science Department) and a member of GREYC-UMR6072 Research Lab (affiliated with Normandie Univ, UNICAEN, ENSICAEN, CNRS).
As a computer science researcher, he specializes in activity recognition in image sequences and has expertise in pattern recognition.
- Since 2022, I have been the Head of the "Algorithmics and Data Structures" major in the Computer Science Master's program at UCN.
- From 2012 to 2016, I served as the Head of the M2 IMALANG "Automatic Processing of Images and Language" M2 program.
- From 2010 to 2012, I was the Head of the research M2 LID program "Language, Image, and Document".
- From 2002 to 2008, I led the "Images" Option in the DESS RADIS (Professional Master's degree): Networks, Documentary Applications, and Images.
- In 2012, I received the Authorization to Supervise Research (Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches) from the University of Caen, with a title on Contributions to Characterization & Structuring of Images and Video Sequences. My specialty is Computer Science and Applications, and I conducted my research at the GREYC laboratory.
- In 2000, I completed my PhD at École Centrale de Lyon with a MENRT scholarship. My research focused on Indexing and Content-based Retrieval of Visual Information. My specialty is Computer Science, and I conducted my research at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at École Centrale de Lyon.
